Bought as a new venture for Jaclyn, Roxy started a chain of events that was to lead us into the exhibition and breeding of this wonderful breed.
Though well bred with a lovely in temperament and well constructed, Roxy was very much Jaclyn’s baby and pet, and was spoiled rotten. Jaclyn showed her at a few Match meetings and was Best in Match with her and she was shown and placed at a couple of Championship Shows, but her real worth has proved to be as a mother.
She adores having puppies and continues to look after all her puppies even when they are grown-ups like herself, and even looks after their puppies
Her first litter of four to Stargang Magic Sword, was born in November 2004 and we had two of each. We let one dog go as a pet and kept the rest.
The dog pup was named Rotella De la Hoya (Oscar), after the World Champion boxer. The bitches; Rotella Sometimes An Angel (Dashie) & Never An Angel (Dottie), because that is exactly how they were.
They all did well in the showring, all qualifying for Crufts first time out. Oscar did so well that he finished 2005 as No.5 Top Puppy and won BD & BOB at Driffield Ch Show with sister Dottie winning BB & BOS. Oscar also won a RCC in 2006.
Roxy has had another litter of four by Magic Sword, all bitches; Sootspot, Lorra Sexpot, Nowt But Trouble & Mrs Smiff. We have kept them all.
So now Roxy quite happily spends her time moving from one ‘pup’ to another, cleaning ears, licking eyes and generally mothering them all.
We love her dearly and she will never leave us.

Dottie was the first of our three homebred dachshund pups to be shown. She came out at Leeds Championship Show in July 2005 in the Minor Puppy class, the biggest class of the day. She won the class and challenged for the top honours. The judge that day was Marina Larego and, after moving Dottie in the challenge, asked ‘how old is she again’, she told me later that she was very tempted to give Dottie either the CC or RCC but decided she would have to wait.
So, a great start.
Dottie did very well at most of the shows and at Crufts 2006 won Special Junior which was the biggest class of the day.
Mated to Ch Stargang Mickey Finn she had two pups but one was dead so we were left with just a lovely silver brindle pin wire bitch called Heidi Hi.
In her second litter to Foxearth Fools Parsley, she produced two pups, one of each. The pin wire dog we named The Maverick (Marvin), and the bitch is called Nobodys Fool. Again we have kept them all.

Shown for the first time at the Lancashire & Cheshire Dachshund Club Show 2005, Dashie did well to win 2nd and Crufts qualification behind one of the top winning puppies at that time.
At Crufts she had to move up a class because sister Dottie was shown in Special Junior. This meant she was competing with much older dogs, but she did well getting 3rd behind two top winners who are both Champions now.
She continued doing well in 2006 winning Limit at
She had a litter of two by Ch Stargang Pick Pocket; a black & tan pin-wire dog and a bitch. Keeping the ‘boxer’ theme, the dog was called Rotella Balboa (Rocky), and the bitch we named Empty Pocket (Emma Lee).
She has since had another litter of four by GB & Jap Ch Drakeleat Jest Dis Once – a dog and three bitches. Again we have kept them all
